I've since seen this book referenced in several other history books, which also attests to it being a well written book from the late 19th century. Another book that I am hopeful will help me to understand
what life was like in an earlier time period in our country's
history.
This book had a focus on New England--I would have liked it more if it had focused a little more on the South, since I am interested in stage-coach travel in Virginia.
a good reference just when I needed it! and the price was right.
this is full of great info, to bad you cant get illustration's because that is really what makes this book. better to get a paper back I think but it is still a great read, I live in Illinois and we have a stage coach -inn and tavern that has been turned into a restaurant but top floors are as it would have when a coach stop . hope you can find one.

I couldn't get interested in this book.
This is a print-on-demand copy of the original book. The print is small, there are no pictures - the original book had many pictures - there is no index, the pages are not even numbered. If you want nothing but plain text, it is ok, but the absence of an index is a handicap to anyone doing research.
